TakingITGlobal seeks a motivated, creative and outgoing young person for the virtual volunteer position of Bengali Volunteer Translator. If you're interested in youth engagement in an online environment, international research work, gaining experience in online media and working in a high-energy Community, this could be your ideal placement.

As a virtual volunteer with TakingITGlobal you will be part of a team of youth leaders and innovators who create opportunities for more than 200,000 youth around the world!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- English to Bengali translations: translate ongoing content for monthly themes and various sections of the TakingITGlobal website into Bengali using the translation tool;
- Participate in Bengali Team meetings on a monthly basis;
- Active participation on the site in Bengali an asset (blog posts, contributions to discussion board threads, Panorama articles or Global Gallery submissions, etc.)
- On going communication with Bengali Coordinator and Multilingual Programs Manager;
- Sending Monthly Reports to Language & Engagement Coordinator;
- Other duties, as necessary.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Fully fluent in Bengali and English (excellent writing skills and spoken fluency). Fluency means a high level of both writing and speaking (mother-tongue speakers are preferred).
- Experience living and working in a Bengali- speaking country an asset. Translation experience considered ideal.
- Ability to work in a collaborative and virtual context
- Interest or background in current affairs, the environment, international issues or human rights, with particular interest in youth engagement and information and communications technologies.
