This position is available for a period of 6 months (with possibility of
renewal) at a weekly rate of 3-5 hours.

TakingITGlobal seeks a motivated, creative and outgoing young person for the virtual volunteer position of Portuguese Content Researcher & Editor. If you're interested in youth engagement in an online environment, international research work, gaining experience in online media and working in a high-energy Community, this could be your ideal placement.

As a virtual volunteer with TakingITGlobal you will be part of a team of youth leaders and innovators who create opportunities for more than 200,000 youth around the world!

Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Performing internal and external research:
- Internal Research: Finding existing relevant content throughout the Portuguese platform to assist with the preparation of the Portuguese newsletter and other iniatives;
- External Research: Finding interesting external content regarding events, initiatives, organizations or opportunities that could be of interest to the Language community (3 database submissions per week in our “Resources” section);
2. Editing Portuguese content by:
- Editing and approving Portuguese content submitted to the “Resources” section once a week (ensuring that they meet the necessary criteria);
- Editing and approving Portuguese content submitted to Panorama, TakingITGlobal’s online publication once a week;
3. Participate in Portuguese Team by:
- Attending the monthly meetings;
- Ensuring on-going communication with Language & Engagement Coordinator and Multilingual Programs Manager;
- Sending monthly reports to Multilingual Programs Manager and Language Coordinator and Language Engagement Coordinator.
4. Other duties, as necessary.




Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Fully fluent in Portuguese and good knowledge of English. Fluency means a high level of both writing and speaking (mother-tongue speakers are preferred). Experience living and working in a Portuguese- speaking country considered an asset;
- Ability to work in a collaborative and virtual context;
- Interest or background in current affairs, the environment, international issues or human rights, with particular interest in youth engagement and information and communications technologies;
- Good knowledge of TakingITGlobal platform;
- Good knowledge of ICTs and TIG's on-line tools.
