TakingITGlobal seeks a motivated, creative and outgoing young person for the virtual volunteer position of Language & Engagement Coordinator. If you're interested in youth engagement in an online environment, international cultural production, gaining experience in online media and working in a high-energy Community, this could be your ideal placement.

As a virtual volunteer with TakingITGlobal you will be part of a team of youth leaders and innovators who create opportunities for more than 200,000 youth around the world!

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. “Language” Platform and Translations:
- Prompt translation of Dispatch issues, Spotlights, International Days and other documents, as directed by the Multilingual Programs Manager;
-Occasional submission of content for Featured Themes, Dispatch, Language newsletter, Global Gallery Contests, Panorama Online Publication and blogs;
-Organization and submission on monthly Task Distribution Plans for the team, as well as other team management documents as requested by the Multilingual Programs Manager (MPM);
-Participation in meetings with the Multilingual Programs Manager and other Language Coordinators on a monthly basis;
-Compiling the “Language” Newsletter (with the help of Content Researchers) every two months;
- Nominating team members for TIGStar Award on a monthly basis;
- Collecting the team’s Monthly Reports.

2. “Language” Engagement:
- Developing a 6-month plan with objectives and goals to increase multilingual content and contribute to the on-line and off-line engagement of the “language” community (under the supervision of the Multilingual Programs Manager);
- Creation and organization of events, activities and contest for the Language platform (under the guidance of the Multilingual Programs Manager and TIG office);
- Promoting TIG to “Language”-speaking organizations and reaching out to local organizations;
- Reporting to Multilingual Programs Manager on a monthly basis;
- Other duties, as necessary.


Experience Sought:
- Fully fluent in “Language” and English (excellent writing skills and spoken fluency). Fluency means a high level of both writing and speaking (mother-tongue speakers are preferred). Experience living and working in a “Language”-speaking, country an asset;
-Ability to work in a collaborative and virtual context;
-Involvement with youth organizations or other non-profit groups considered an asset;
-Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced learning environment, adeptly managing multiple shifting priorities;
-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc), web-browsing and research, email use, etc. experience in multimedia, web and training is an asset;
- Excellent organization and time-management skills;
-Interest or background in current affairs, international issues and human rights, with particular interest in youth engagement and information and communications technologies;
- Access to a computer and Internet connection;
- Reliable, Punctual and self-motivated.
